Nechisar National Park

Nechisar National Park is a national park situated near Arba Minch, Ethiopia. The name Nechisar (Amharic for white grass) is derived from the white grass that covers the plains of the park. The mountainous landscape, lakes, grassy plains and wildlife are the reasons why this park is one of the best tourist attractions in Ethiopia.

Wildlife and Safaris in the National Park

Nechisar National Park is home to numerous species including the Greater Kudu, Plains Zebra, Burchell’s zebra, vervet monkey, Anubis baboon, bushpig, bushbuck, black-backed jackal, Dik-dik and Swayne’s Hartebeest which is endemic to Ethiopia. In addition there are Crocodile species.

Bird Life in the National Park

Nechisar National Park constitute of pelicans, fish eagles and flamingos to name a few of the bird species present in this park.
