Fasika festival to Lalibela and historic route in Ethiopia

Ethiopian Easter , Fasika Amharic , are celebrated to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus on the third day after his crucifixion. They are devoted after 55 days of fasting and represent one of the most popular for the Ethiopian Orthodox festivals.
The day before Easter , Orthodox Ethiopians attend religious ceremonies accompanied by incense and leave home around 3am to break the fast.

You will attend the festival in one of the meccas of Orthodoxy in Lalibela .

On this trip you will visit the famous sights of the historic road north of which four sites are listed in the World Heritage List of UNESCO , including: Axum, Lalibela , Gondar , the island monasteries of Lake Tana the palace of the Queen of Sheba. You will meet some very amazing priests of the monastery of Debre Libanos .
